At Teach For China, we believe that placing exceptional leaders in classrooms and schools will result in a world where every child, regardless of their background, has a chance to succeed in life.
We recruit, train and place exceptional young adults to work as elementary and middle schools teachers in rural, low-income schools. From a small non-profit with 15 teacher Fellows in Yunnan we now supporting 220 classrooms across five provinces: Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Gansu and Fujian. Our Fellows (teachers) work tirelessly over a two year Fellowship period to help their students achieve academic excellence and nurture their student’s aspirations and dreams. To do this, Fellows not only work to be great teachers, they commit to being inspirational leaders in their schools and the broader community, developing a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing educators in low-income areas.
