Roots Technology is disrupting traditional equity management tools and solving universal pain points with Sprout, a comprehensive suite of stakeholder management software-as-a-service (SaaS). Sprout enables companies to efficiently manage cap tables, employee stock options and shareholders as a single source of truth, saving time and money.
Roots was founded by an ex-Uber Asia business executive and a China product and engineering leader with a combined 40-years of global startup experience launching companies at scale and cultivating large teams. We were founded in 2019 in Hong Kong and co-located in Beijing. We recently raised our first external round of financing from a group of influential, early-stage investors and a tier 1 venture capital investor. Sprout has achieved product-market fit (150+ customers across 25+ countries) and is now looking to scale our sales and marketing efforts.
For What We Are Hiring
We are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Marketing to strategize and drive our all our global marketing efforts. You’ll drive the development the company’s business strategy, managing the full range of marketing activities and overseeing related budgets.
Team You Are Joining
You will join our Business team, working alongside your teammates from Business Development, Sales, FP&A and Product. As one of our first members of marketing and as a senior leader, you’ll be building out Sprout’s full marketing functions and hiring a team to fill critical roles as we scale. You’ll also work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure consistency in positioning and messaging. You will plan and execute launches & campaigns in close collaboration and coordination with other teams.
Problem You Will Solve
The problem to solve is how to continuously increase the amount we capture of the value we create for the market. You will break this our marketing functions into pieces and develop solutions for the following categories: Content, Growth, Product, Community and Operations.
For Content, you will develop and manage our content production, publishing and library to establish thought leadership in the marketplace. For Growth, you will strategize and drive all the non-Sprout users in the market to be Sprout customers and optimizing the user acquisition funnel. For Product, you will connect with our Sales and Product teams to connect the voice of the customer with our development team and develop narratives and marketplace positioning. For Community, you will cultivate and manage our community of founders and executives via Slack and other content vehicles such as newsletters, events and webinars. Finally, you will be biased for action and speed and, through operational excellence, you will make it all happen seamlessly and create magic.
About You
You have a deep experience is all the marketing arts and for the areas where you know a bit less, you possess enough knowledge to be very dangerous or have a tremendous thirst to learn and try. You obsess about customer needs and pain points. You have a strong growth mindset, with demonstrated ability to learn and improve from your mistakes. You live and breathe campaign strategy, execution, testing, optimization and alleviating loopholes and leaks in the marketing funnel. You are a highly organized, experienced project manager that’s passionate about technology, bonus points for experience in Finance or Fintech SaaS. You have proven capability for formulating data and analysis driven marketing campaigns. Most importantly, you are a proven problem solver that gets things done.
Needless to say, you are a strong communicator with native fluency in the English language. In this day and age, you are person that can thrive working remotely with very little supervision. Last, but not least, you operate transparently as a team player with strong ethical and moral beliefs.
