The Position: The Innovation Road Trip (IRT) Manager will be responsible for planning and completing the Innovation Road Trips bringing technology startups to the Greater Bay Area China. Each trip includes companies focused on the Internet of Things (IoT), FinTech, Mobility, and Smart City industries. The IRT Manager will also be responsible for scheduling meetings in different communities throughout each region; Inviting members from the community, of investors, entrepreneurs, business corporations, and government agencies.

Each trip includes companies focused on the Internet of Things (IoT), FinTech, Mobility, and Smart City industries. The IRT Manager will also be responsible for scheduling meetings in different communities throughout each region; Inviting members from the community, of investors, entrepreneurs, business corporations, and government agencies.
Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities will include
- Working with top tier venture-backed companies on trips to the Greater Bay Area China. This Internet of Things (IoT), FinTech, Mobility, and Smart City companies.
- Coordinate, schedule, and execute programming (workshops, one-on-one meetings, etc.)events (dinners, meetups, etc.), and partners for each trip.
- Planning 4 meaning events in partnership with key industry leaders (like Pico).
- Coordinate and oversee all travel arrangements (air, lodging etc.), operations for each trip, while managing relationships with travel agencies, partners, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with travel service provider.
- Provide advice on travel documents, insurance and international and local regulations etc.
- Communicate with and inform inquiring global start-ups looking to join on trips.
- Facilitate relationships between startups, mentors, investors, local partners, and the local ReadWrite Labs communitySupport the ReadWrite Labs team in related efforts including driving startups to program globally.
- Represent ReadWrite Labs in the local community, both actively and passively.
Qualifications:
- Incredibly self-driven, organized with exceptional professional presentation and speaking skills.
- Must be fluent in English and Mandarin. Cantonese is a plus.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experiences in marketing, community development, and cross-border business.
- Possess domain knowledge around accelerators & start-ups, in addition to an extensive professional network across Hong Kong, China, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region
- Are familiar with both the corporate and start-up world and can moderate between the two
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities – Directors vet start-ups and wipe down tables!
- Incredibly self-driven, organized, with exceptional professional presentation and speaking skills

- Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience
- Graduated from top-tier universities is a plus
- Willingness to travel as needed (Ability to travel as needed (35% or less)
