Founded in 2014, ofo has connected over 10 million bikes with 200 million global users in more than 250 cities across 20 countries. The platform generates 32 million transactions per day and has provided more than 4 billion rides in total.
Users accumulated a riding distance of over 1.2 billion kilometers, reducing 84 million liters of fuel consumption and 265,000 tons of carbon dioxide from just April to June of 2017 alone.
ofo started collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme in April 2017 to achieve the Global Sustainability Goals. It also launched a partnership with Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation in August 2017 to improve the lives of girls in Malawi by funding scholarships and donating bikes to provide them with a safe way to get to school. In Oct 2017, ofo joined hands with C40 in tackling worldwide climate change issues and will contribute in every way possible to researches focused on healthy livable cities, identification of high impact actions, and benefits of inclusive climate actions.
ofo raised $700 million in its Series E funding led by Alibaba, Hony Capital and CITIC Private Equity in July, 2017.
The Role
You’ll be the key executive responsible for ofo Hong Kong's overall growth and market entry to post launch operational efficiencies and associated revenue targets. This role would need to work closely with our Head of Business in our Asia Pacific expansion to define, set and execute on our business operation strategy to capture markets. This includes managing a large on-ground team. You’ll need to define and drive the strategy and execution in country overall in each city, so you’ll need to know deeply about the country’s regulations and all factors to drive a long standing operational success. We would prefer that you have had early stage experience as part of a launching team that executed expansion launches for new territories.
What You’ll Do
· Define and project manage milestones for pre-launch to post-launch completion for our market expansion in-country from strategy, planning and execution
· Identify and drive opportunities in regulations, partnerships, marketing, and operation growth
· Hands-on in leading directives for the operational and marketing team to drive growth and sustainable engagement
· Responsible for country P&L, business results, and performance targets
What You’ll need
· Currently experienced in managing a sizeable team in a startup environment, including a large on ground operational team, with demonstrated successes in early stage initiatives
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple country-wide operations while optimizing on efficiency, expertise in scaling from zero to large scale from scratch for technology startups
· The ability to pivot quickly to meet changing regulations and and make strategic changes within the market
· Operate with enthusiasm and flexibility within a constantly evolving, strategic and fast paced team environment
· Successful candidates would have already have 5- 7 years of relevant experience, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and come deeply passionate about the on-demand, sharing economy
