Solar energy (photovolatic, PV) plays a key role in a renewable energy supply. Silicon is the raw material for today's solar cells. Silicon itself is produced in electric furnaces with temperature above 2,000°C from quartz and carbon. Thus, silicon production is energy-intensive and requires fossil resources. Thus, clean solar energy is linked to consumption of fossil resources. Our mission is to build a green silicon production to provide silicon for solar cells and everyday products.
