Big data explosion promises huge opportunities, but in tandem with great opportunities come great challenges, and how should we keep up?

This seminar aims to address these profound challenges in a few aspects. We will illustrate big data application through the case of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), and talk about data infrastructure and talent in relation to different business scales. While observing global tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and IBM invest R&D resources in Taiwan and make it as the heart of big data and AI development in Asia, it leaves a question on how Hong Kong can position itself and exploit the synergies in Asia. What’s more, the seminar will also touch on the recent hot topic on data acquisition and protection.
