Plastic & Oceans
China is responsible for the largest amount of plastic entering our oceans of any country, contributing to a global crisis that has exploded into the public consciousness in just a few years. Traditional petroleum based plastics do not degrade, and have a variety of impacts from killing marine life, to interfering with human hormonal function via the marine fish we eat.

Hong Kong is struggling to reduce the amount of plastic consumed, preventing it from entering the sea, and clearing up our inundated sea and coastal areas when it does. This roundtable will facilitate a discussion amongst the entrepreneurial, corporate and environmental communities to identify the priority areas where action can make the most difference, and existing and potential solutions.

Mettā is reviving the previous roundtable discussions on the hottest topics in town with thought leaders passionate and highly involved in the designated industry from government, corporates, educational institutions, NGOs, startups and groups affected. The objective is to emerge conversations and carry through action points to solve the world’s toughest challenges.

Individuals attending the event are vetted and will be invited by invitations. However, if you are truly passionate about this cause and would love to join us in bouncing off ideas to make a bigger difference; feel free to complete the questionnaire and we will get in touch with you shortly.
