Caleb and Megan will be sharing with you what they've done in their careers to connect technology to the healthcare market, in particular touching on the project they are working on now.
EF has spent the past 8 years helping hundreds of people start their own Deep Technology companies and has had extensive involvement in growing healt tech companies in particular. To share with you exactly why and what we have done, are members of our cohort along with EF alumni sharing the practical application of deep technology.
Megan Lam, is a neuroscience and psychology researcher, studying the intersection of big data, technology, and mental health. She serves on the executive board of The GIANT Health Event, an annual conference that showcases cutting-edge medical technologies in London. Meg was previously a research fellow at Yale School of Medicine (Yale Medicine), where she used data from online social interactions, among others, to find patterns on depressive behaviour. She also co-ran Psychiatry Technology Group, which brought entrepreneurs and professionals from different backgrounds in exploring technology for psychiatry.
Caleb Chiu is a social entrepreneur striving to make a positive impact on society through technology. Caleb has an MSc in Computing Science from Imperial College London, and he has been awarded the Phillips Group Prize Project in 2013 for his contributions to his group project. Caleb has published several apps throughout his career; one notable app is “Taxi HK”, which reached Hong Kong’s Top 10 Paid Utility App within 12 hours and also became the 2nd Top Overall Free App. It was later featured in the Sunday Morning Post in Hong Kong. Caleb then went on to develop and publish Hiyo - an anonymous chat to get real-time advice from strangers for both Android and iOS, obtaining over 6000 organic users within half a year.
