Dr. Meikei Ieong, Chief Technology Officer, ASTRI
Dr. Ieong will share his view on the current state of Enterprise Blockchain adoption here in Hong Kong, and throughout the wider Asia Pacific Region. The attendees will get an insight on where we (HK) are today; where local institutions are taking major strides; and where there might be room for improvement!

The panellists will discuss what they believe still needs to be done to make blockchain ready for production enterprise usage; as well as look at the people and organisational challenges that remain as blockers to the adoption of the technology by key companies here in Hong Kong from the blockchain technology, banking, insurance and market infrastructure industries.
Speaker Profile:
Dr. Meikei Ieong is Chief Technology Officer of Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), responsible for the overall R&D strategy and execution. Prior to this, he held various leadership positions in leading technology companies, including Vice President of TSMC Europe B.V., R&D Director at TSMC, Taiwan, and senior manager at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY.
He holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan Fellows Program at MIT School of Management. He has published more than 100 papers in journals and conference proceedings and more than 80 patents. His publication has been cited more than 8,900 citations.
Dr. Ieong has received many awards over his career such as IBM Master Inventor Award, IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, and IBM Corporate Award. He is an IEEE Fellow in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) Device Technology.
