NIO LIYANAGE, DIRECTOR OF BETATRON
Nio is a founder, venture capital & business advisory professional, most recently driving startup engagement and global accelerators at Nest VC. He was in the product strategy team for Apple before developing extensive experience as a management consultant over six years, following which he built a business-building boutique which was supported over 100 high-growth ventures.
SAM AMEEN, HEAD OF DIGITAL MARKETING, IC STUDIO & BETATRON
Sam is an entrepreneur and digital marketer, who scales startups using by acquiring new users/customers, generating new leads, and increasing their sales online. Sam started exploring digital marketing back in 2007 and by the time he'd graduated from University, he'd profited over US$300,000 from online projects. Sam is IC Studio and Betatron's Head of Digital Marketing and is also a Forbes contributor, sharing his thoughts on entrepreneurship and startups.
RAFAL CZERNIAWSKI, PARTNER AND CO-FOUNDER OF BETATRON, CEO & CO-FOUNDER OF IC STUDIO
In 2016 Rafal co-founded Betatron, Hong Kong's first investment-driven accelerator program. Prior to his entrepreneurial career Rafal was CTO at CLSA, CIO at SetClear, and his career spans thirty years in software and product development for investment banks and financial institutions. Rafal holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
MATTHEW NG, CO-FOUNDER OF PAKPOBOX
Matthew is the co-founder of Pakpobox, one of the graduates from Betatron's cohort 1. His mission is to simplify the delivery of parcels by building a locker infrastructure to fulfill the growing demand of e-commerce.
ROLAND YAU, MANAGING PARTNER OF COCOON IGNITE VENTURES
Roland is Managing Partner of CoCoon Ignite Ventures, L.P., an early stage venture fund focusing on investments in the retail and human capital space. At CoCoon Ignite Ventures, Roland has led investments in companies including Cafe X and Soundbrenner. Roland graduated from New York University in 2004 with a bachelors degree in biology and graduated from the University of London in 2007 with a bachelors degree in law. Prior to establishing CoCoon Ignite Ventures, Roland was with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a London based international law firm, from 2008 to 2015. At Freshfields, Roland focused on transactions relating to equity capital markets, private equity and mergers and acquisitions.
Karena Belin, Co-Founder of WHub
Karena is a pillar of the Hong Kong Startup scene and passionate about technology, entrepreneurship and fostering the ecosystem. She is active as speaker, mentor and judge at international events, organisations and accelerators (RISE, TOA, Chicago Booth GNVC, Google EYE, Techstars, IFLR and others). Previously, she had worked 15 years for P&G mostly in Finance and holds a double-diploma in business and administration from the University of Mannheim and the MBA business school ESSEC in Paris (Linkedin: karenabelin; Twitter: @BelinKarena).
