2017 was, by some accounts and for the tech community: the “Year of the ICO”!

At this “Ask Me Anything” (AMA), we will talk about some of the legal, regulatory and commercial issues in connection with making an Initial Coin Offering.

An ICO (Initial Coin Offering) provides for an alternate means of fundraising for technology start-ups, particularly blockchain-based ones. Developers sell a percentage of a previously publicly unavailable cryptocurrency to early backers of the project in exchange for fiat currency or other cryptocurrencies of immediate, liquid value.

Takeaways:

Gain an overview of, and the link between, an ICO, blockchain & cryptocurrencies
Latest trends of ICO launches and a risk-reward analysis of investments in an ICO
Understand the consequences of ICO boom for the cryptocurrency industry and venture capital financing
Learn from real use cases and case studies from a tri-qualified corporate lawyer who has worked on 12 ICOs in Singapore and overseas
Followed by Q&A and networking
