The advent of mobile phones and open-source data has revolutionized consumerism while challenging traditional business models across industries. Whether retail, real estate or tourism, embracing technology is only the first step in staying relevant. Merely having an online presence isn’t sufficient when competing for brand recognition and engagement with consumers. Extending beyond entertainment, games are pervasive and vitally important in generating interest and customer loyalty.
At this afterwork talk, Nick will address:
– current and future landscape of technology & hardware (AR, VR, NFC)
– principles of gamification
– use cases of game design principles across various industries
About the Speaker
Nicholas Chan, Co-founder of Game On Hong Kong
From Canada, Nick arrived in Hong Kong shortly after studying Environmental Engineering at the University of Guelph. Nick’s interest in design and the lifecycle of products led him through a myriad of freelance work as he tried to understand the complex verticals within industries. Realizing a lack of support for the local gaming industry, Game On Hong Kong was established in early 2017. Hosting regular events, the aim of Game On HK is to create meaningful connections between developers, government bodies, venture capitalists and enthusiasts. In his spare time, Nick continues his passion for creating social networks and open dialogue by volunteering at CreativeMorningsHK and other organizations.
