Security Research Labs is a hacking, research & consultancy firm based in Hong Kong, Berlin and Jakarta.
Our team is a group of young, brilliant and incredibly motivated ethical hackers. We are responsible for uncovering vulnerabilities such as BadUSB, the Android patch gap and the Alexa and Google Home eavesdropping vulnerabilities.
Our consulting work contributes to strategic technology projects at Fortune 500 companies where we help understand and mitigate technology risks. These risks are modelled and evaluated by our team of leading IT security researchers. The knowledge transfer to our clients is carried out in high impact strategy projects at our client sites.

Ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who has 5-10 years of in-depth, hands-on experience in cybersecurity and enjoys leading a technical team to success. This position will be a permanent role based in Hong Kong and we are happy to sponsor work visas.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive technical security matters for our Fortune500 clients
- Communicate, advise and align with our clients on workstreams such as pentesting, red teaming, device testing
- Build and maintain an effective timeline for project planning and management
- Be the go-to advisor on technical matters for our consultants and hackers
- Mentor and lead our team with your security expertise and knowledge
- Work with the team to make good documentations and reporting for C-level executives
- Work side by side with our security experts in Berlin on technical workstreams
- Communicate effectively with our team members, clients and vendors
- Present on security topics at universities and conferences
- Contribute your hacking and security knowledge towards our research projects
Key skills
- 5-10 years of solid hands-on experience in hacking and consulting
- In-depth knowledge in a few of the following areas:
- web, mobile and device pentesting, red teaming
- network scanning, vulnerability management
- cloud security and configuration management
- security monitoring, blue teaming, SOC
- cryptography and key management
- architecture and code review
- incident response
- A passion for and hands-on experience in ethical hacking (pentesting, red teaming)
- Strong conceptual understanding of offensive and defensive security
- Solid experience leading a team
- Good experience in security research
- Good at advising and developing strategies for clients
- Enjoys solving technical problems and challenges
- Enjoys mentoring a team of talented consultants and hackers
- Enjoys working both independently and in a team environment
- Experience presenting at security conference, workshops, trainings would be an asset
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Experience in consulting or management would be a bonus
- Enjoys travelling for work would be a bonus
