At present, we are looking for a Senior Womenswear Buyer to join the Grana team, reporting in to the Head of Product and managing one Assistant Buyer, this will be suited to a Buyer or Established Buyer with extensive multi product experience, who is looking for an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a new brand. You will be tasked with developing commercial ranges in line with the company’s objectives, responsible for maximising sales and profit through continually acquiring knowledge of customer and industry trends, global sourcing and working closely with suppliers.

- Manage specialist suppliers to ensure we have the right developments, creativity, and consistency balanced with quality and price;
- Keep updated with the design and visual aesthetic for the brand, while working alongside the Design team developing collections from initial concept, though to the finished product;
- Partner with Merchandising to align on targets to execute the seasonal plans and tie back to the merchandise strategies. Understand and support the optimization of the planning assortment, ensuring we have the right products, for the right price, at the best margin and in the right time;
- Managing all Womenswear categories, focused on driving sales, constantly searching for new sales opportunities whilst building the product road map and aligning to the company objectives. Understand financial metrics to analyse your categories and make recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history and market trends;
- To negotiate with suppliers and maintain good working relationships in order to achieve the right product from the best source in terms of price, quality and delivery;
- Bring new and exciting ranges that maintain a leading edge on our competitors, demonstrating your knowledge of the competition and how we benchmark as a brand;
- Understand how customers buying habits are affected by the latest trends and their surroundings;
- Understand the major products/product groups which will drive sellingyou’re your department;
- To manage the development process within the agreed critical path, ensuring that delivery dates can be met, taking action as required;
- Responsible for sample handling, participating in fittings and ensuring all comments are passed to vendors in a timely manner;
- Leading the team to drive results at the department level, provide timely direction and clean communication to all team members. Building relationships through effective collaboration, participating as a solution oriented team member effectively managing up, down and across with results.
The Ideal Candidate will possess…
- Degree educated with 5+ years' experience in Womenswear or apparel buying with a retailer. 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree;
- Must possess a strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends into the Grana aesthetic
- Ability to solve complex problems; taking the initiative to find solutions
- Proven experience managing a team and mentoring junior talent
- Strong working knowledge of MS Windows applications, especially Excel. A working knowledge of Illustrator is helpful yet not essential.
- Experience in prioritising and delegating work, must be hands on with daily requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, and leadership skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levels
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
- Must have a flexible work ethic with a self-starter mentality and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Must be a collaborative team player with great initiative
- Fantastic supplier management skills, experience developing product directly with factories; an understanding of development from concept through delivery is required. Must be a confident negotiator.
- Strong knowledge of process-flow through supply chain;

- Great commercial and Industry acumen and the ability to think strategically;
- Cross-functional project management skills, accustomed to leading projects with little supervision
