Summary of the Position
We are seeking a talented and passionate Logistics Specialist/Manager to support our rapidly growing team. Our products enable our customer companies to eliminate the need for diesel and drive the transition toward fully electrified industrial sites and applications. Our supply chain is complex and involves elements of electronics, power electronics, high power systems, steel enclosures, and compliance all the way from the design stage to production deployment. AMPD is a fast-growing company, and so this role has a wide scope and there is lots of room to develop and learn as AMPD continues its global customer base.
You should be motivated, reliable, thorough, and excited about being among the first in the world to work with game-changing products. You will be expected to be able to operate independently and be a clear, candid, and effective communicator in both spoken and written English.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills
● Bachelor’s degree (or similar), preferably in Business, Logistics, International Trade, Economics, or related fields.
● At least 5 years (Specialist) or 10 years (Manager) in a logistics role with global shipping experience including shipping out of China and Southeast Asia to Europe, Australia, and North America; knowledge of Trade Compliance will be a plus.
● Practice experience in handling bulky / heavy cargo and dangerous goods are preferable.
● Demonstrated examples on how you used your creativity and discipline to improve logistics costs for a previous project or company.
● Outstanding people skills with the ability to communicate clearly, motivate peers, work collaboratively and form trusting relationships internally and with logistics providers and other suppliers.
● Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
● Experience managing external suppliers and ideally conducting an RFQ process for a logistics or 3PL related business relationship.
● Strong communication skills, written and spoken in English, Mandarin and Cantonese is required
● A passion for improving our environment.
● Permitted to work in Hong Kong.
● Candidates with less qualification or working experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
● Manage logistics providers to support AMPD’s production and product development. Accountable for maintaining accurate status on logistics progress, escalating issues promptly when needed.
● Interface with all the stakeholders, inside and outside the organization to ensure requirements and status are communicated clearly and accurately.
● Maintain a complete set of updated customs documentation for all current AMPD products including bills of lading, customs declarations, test reports, etc. to facilitate quick and accurate shipment bookings.
● Assist developing and documenting AMPD processes for logistics and shipping.
● Prepare periodic Business Reviews with suppliers to review supplier performance and communicate AMPD’s future plans.
● Participate in cost improvement planning and implementation.
