We’re looking for an exceptional VP of Engineering to provide strategic technical leadership to our team of highly talented engineers & designers, as well as continue building out our team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and CTO to create a technical vision and roadmap for the company
- Become the go-to resource for the engineering and design team on a wide range of technical problems
- Cultivate high employee engagement, performance and commitment to the product through a motivational & visionary approach
- Lead and grow multiple engineering teams the charter of developing and executing on the hosting platform and product strategy.
- Drive and Implement companywide initiatives in data instrumentation, UI, user ID, ecommerce and reporting.
- Lead architectural discussions within the organization and across the company
- Continue to drive improvements in engineering practices within the team and company wide
- Manage and grow a multisite, multi-product engineering organization driving toward org efficiencies by planning (with the Product Management and Product Marketing Leaders) .
- Proven experience leading large, complex organizations.
- Lead projects on a dynamic environment that need to adapt quickly to changing requirements and react fast to our customer's feedback.
- Recruit outstanding technical talent in a highly competitive market
- Lead by example; be able to contribute code and have a deep understanding of our stack
- Proactively remove any obstacles that stand in the way of engineering productivity
- Maximize team productivity and build loyalty by deeply understanding & incorporating various motivations, working styles and preferences
- Build strong relationships across the organization to ensure cross-functional collaboration
Addition requirements
- Experience working at a fast-paced, small technology company (<350 employees)
- Built and delivered products that have scaled
- Demonstrated passion for and success in attracting, assessing, and closing highly skilled candidates
- High emotional intelligence
- Humility; ability to step back and speak openly about mistakes
- Spent time working across an entire organization, building relationships to understand the ins and outs of the whole business
Qualifications
- 15+ years professional software engineering experience
- Computer Science bachelor's degree (masters preferred), relevant technical degree or equivalent experience
- Very strong understanding of modern platform architectures and technologies
- Experience with managing complex portfolio of products and ability to optimize resource allocation based on platform strategy, product goals and business goals.
- Experience building, scaling, managing Platforms and APIs.
- Experience in driving distributed systems and projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple business priorities while still holding quality paramount
