With our impact growing at pace, we are now seeking to hire a Marketing Manager to join our growing team in Hong Kong with the main purpose to enhance Teach For China’s marketing collateral for our key stakeholders, specifically our Hong Kong and overseas audiences.
Working within our Development team, the ideal candidate will be a marketer first and foremost – who should be able to articulate the story we are looking to tell about Teach For China and bring this to life. You will manage existing marketing collaterals - event invitations, newsletters, fundraising materials, brochures – as well as designing and creating new materials to create a compelling case for support. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, with excellent copy-writing capability and be able to translate key materials, and messages, from Mandarin to our English audiences.
You will be responsible for working with colleagues to source and produce case studies and stories from our community to illustrate the problem of educational inequality and demonstrate the impact of our work. You will also work with external designers, ensuring they understand the Teach For China brand and sourcing new suppliers as required.
One of our most successfully events each year are our fundraising galas, attended by some of the most influential individuals and businesses, these high-profile evenings are hugely important to the team’s success and our brand. This role will also support bespoke communications for galas and other ad hoc events held across the year.
Based in the Hong Kong office the role will be managed by the Director of Development Hong Kong; this is an ideal opportunity for and enthusiastic, passionate and creative marketing professional looking to take on a new challenge.
Key accountabilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, draft and deliver English communications - digital and print – copy, brochures, videos
- Collect, design and write compelling case studies
- Work closely with the marketing team to create engaging online content
- Create bespoke materials to assist Development team raise U.S.$26M
- Ensure brand narrative is consistent and messaging is aligned to our strategic aims
- Collaborate with departments across Teach For China to ensure that copy in English medium is fully integrated, accurate and efficient across all platforms and channels
Technical competencies & qualifications
- A passion for Teach For China vision and mission
- Native or near-native English and fluency in Mandarin required
- 3+ years of marketing, with advanced English medium experience
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of digital and social media channels
- Strong visual skills and experience of carrying out creative design work
- Strong creative writing skills with accurate punctuation, grammar and the ability to adapt written styles across marketing materials and platforms
- Experience of the Adobe creative suit (InDesign and Photoshop especially)
